Mature congregations don't want an untouchable leader perched high atop the church - they want good men with friends who love them enough to challenge their instincts when they think they're mistaken. That's what team work does. Making decisions on your own is easy, it's comfortable. Making decisions with a team is harder, and it's far more fruitful.
