The answer to this question is we need to estimate our fold, technically. In general, you can assume that a big stack is going to call wider than a shorter stack and having that extra player between us doesn't do enough in my opinion to make me not want to choose a wider range against the shorter player and the big blinds. The other players behind you're going to matter to some degree as well. So knowing that the big blind has less incentive to call you when they're shorter, how much does your position contribute?
