Accessing Anxiety as a Strength
The point of the neurodiversity movement is to move away from pathologizing the various ways that brains are wired. The more we can recognize that overthinking and hypervigilance can, at times, be an asset, the less debilitating it becomes. There's this very fine line between letting others or ourselves experience a healthy amount of anxiety and the flip side of debilitating clinical anxiety. Normalizing and destigmatizing feelings of anxiety can help us self-advocate.
