The Retaliatory Targeting of House Bill 9B
The circumstances surrounding the passage of House Bill 9B revealed the same retaliatory targeting. Stakeholders did not have time to conduct their own analyses and no concrete plan to effectuate the dissolution of RCID or address the ramifications of doing so was proposed in the months following the legislation's hasty and health. A special session was convened and the legislature passed the bill within days of its introduction. This is that second bill that DeSantis's goons came back. During the Senate's floor session, Senator Doug Broxin confirmed that the bill was punishment for Disney failing to be apolitical.
