BBC technology reporter Zoe Kleinman goes to a UK university that's well known for sport science and where she finds some experts researching the past, present and future of fitness tech. Dr Dale Essleja at Loughborough University has an enormous drawer full of fitness trackers every single tracker that you can imagine is in this drawer because they've studied them all as they've evolved. The most accurate way to count your steps is on the soles of your feet so how accurate do we know? We looked at running trackers and we found that they weren't particularly great at measuring marathon distances.
