The Four Stages of Change
In the contemplation stage, clients are saying that they wanna change but not doing anything about it. They're still in the contemplation stage even though they're kind of sort of committed, but not really. And then we have stage three, which is preparation. These people are developing a plan to make the need of changes and building themselves up for changing. Then there's stage four, action: People who are taking inspired action by engaging in new behaviors or ways of thinking. Stage five, maintenance: Clients at this point can sustain their behavior with minimal effort.
