The Portable Antiquity Scheme?
The portable antiquity scheme was set up as a voluntary scheme some years ago by the british museum. And basically every county has a finds liaison, afser oh, you can report your finds to and get things identified. They're not going to steal your objects. It's entirely up to you if you want to give it to a museum,. but at least they' record it photographically and drawing - which would be wonderful. Thee's usually any one of them, but they have a great, fantastic knowledge. If they don't know, they know a network of experts they can go to, and they can help you out.
