The Story of Joseph and His Brothers

Joseph and his brothers in Gerard's view is a conscious and intentional rewriting of mythology. The Joseph story is absolutely archetypal, in my view, of the real meaning of what the Bible is about. Entirely the deconstruction, let's use this word, of mythology. And as such, he says, it typifies the new thing that is happening in the Bible.
