The Black Lives Matter Hashtag

The black lives matter hashtag and idea came out of social media that did not exist in the same way in two thousand three. It's hashtag politics didn't exist 20 years before. So it can be traced to a group of people who start with a hash tag, but then become important to the convening of many different organizations throughout the country.
