The Effects of Parenting on Narcissism

Overvaluation promotes narcissism. Anything that fosters contingent self esteem and kids is going to promote narcissism. I love Eddie's work, but I also think the effects are small. We've gotten too obsessed with the idea that parenting plays this critical role in development of psychopathology.
