The first, I think, crucial move is for us to understand intimate privacy as a civil and a human right. Right now in the United States, we think of intimate data as a consumer protection problem. This would shift that section 230, a legal immunity to one of responsibility. We need to bring the case of moral situation to industry so that they adopt these practices - even though law doesn't yet require them.
