How Did You Decide to Adapt Your Own Play?
At the time, when it first came out, I was not confident that Hollywood wouldn't do something that would make me very unhappy with the source material. When Regina came on as director, she was like, other writer, I want you to be the writer. So amazing. Someone did such a good job of preparing you for how Hollywood works. You know, this is kind of my second goal. Because when I first came to LA in 2004, I was doing a lot of Page 1 rewrite work and nothing got produced.
