The History of the Prussian Coalition

In 1792, most of the Prussian ruling class was too caught up with war fever to give this much thought. By joining the coalition, the Prussians had in effect offered to help their enemy defeat a potential ally. The remaining members of the coalition were trying to present a united front against the ideological threat of the French Republic. In 1795, it began to crumble under the relentless pressure of the Republican armies.
