Is It a Letter or a Number?

Emily: I remember this really a funny experiment you did, i believe, with david dunning many years ago. You asked people to see the difference between the letter thirteen and the capital letter b in anent. What we found was that people overwhelmingly interpreted that figure as, in fact, a letter. Their wish, desire to get the orange juice by seeing a letter, by hoping that a letter appeared, led them to interpret that image in the more desirable way....
