The Paracosum of Faith
Faith works best for people when they share what I would call a paracosum, kind of a shared imaginary world. What's happening in a faith practice is that people are have a shared set of stories that are different from the everyday world. They're not considering this as mere play, but they're sort of pretending or taking, you know, to experience another reality.
