Trust the Character of the God You Are Praying To

Prayer should drive us to true prayer in its rawest form. Instead we pray safe, calculated prayers that insulate us from both disappointment and freedom. We dwindle god down to a divine being who's just as overwhelmed and powerless as we are. Trust is the certainty that the listening god hears and that he cares. And i trust the god who, even when he does not remove suffering from my life, wears suffering alongside me. The bible never promises that we sometimes feel like weare alone wandering in the desert. But it does promise this - if you trust the character of the god that you are praying to, you can drag your feet through the desert.
