Morrie Povitch: A Daytime Talk Show

Morrie was initially branded as the Morrie-Povitch show. It debuted in 1991 just a couple of weeks before Jerry Springer and then the mist of daytime TV's Heyday. The show has been popular enough to inspire many memes and even a promotional stunt for a Lil Nas X music video. There have also been detractors who have pointedly criticized it for exploiting people of color and the working class.
