The Importance of Applicatives in English
The real point of even having applicatives is in order to make something, some other type of construction simpler. In lots of languages that have applicatives, it's to manage moving things around the clauses. The three most common kinds of applicatives are benefactive, instrumental, and locative of some sort. And then finally, I should have mentioned, the benefactive can also be malefactive.
