How Did You Start Pairing Drag and Femininity Together?
After her professional dance career in contemporary, I then went into commercial dance dance for civil commercial companies. And it was always the straight laced like Guy Potting's girl does the little guy pop and never actually does more. So that's when I opened up my own dance company to put on shows for like the Auckland Fringe Festival and also the Pride Festival. In these shows I started creating narratives that I wanted to explore,. whether it was good and evil, man-dressed woman or a feminine blur. "I wanted to play with these things as a social commentary, but also as a form of like exploration within myself in the subject matter," she says.
