The 14 day rule is a guide line that says that human embryos shouldn't be grown in a dish for more than two weeks past when they were fertilized. Back when it was put in place, nobody could even grow an embryo for 14 days outside of the body. Now we're really in this time period were ok, before we couldn't do this, now we can.
