The acadians erased some parts of the venerable city state traditions that had existed for s of years. They bound the old urban centres of mesopotamia to their new empire in a variety of ways. The conquerors imposed a unified system of weights and measures. And they kept exceptionally detailed records of productivity and the available resources.
