Is Quantum Computing Going to Come About?
Quantum computing is likely to come about in the next five to 50 years. It's time for us to get on with implementing those encryption schemes so that we're safe against a future quantum computer, he says. China and other adversaries are doing what's being called snatch and decrypt later where they know they can't decrypt massive amounts of data but will one day be able to. He suggests using both policy and technology to make quantum decryption harder.
