The Three Traditional Offices of the Archons
In 579, 578 BC, the three traditional offices of the Archons was re-instituted. There was clearly some kind of political upheaval in the works. The important families of the aristocracy each sought to make themselves a dominant force and bring about changes to the Constitution. Following Solon's reforms, all three factions had equal power and equal ambitions.
