I Was a Teenager and I Couldn't Fix It

When my sister was born when I was 7 years old I actually attended the birth. My mum just wasn't in a good place in her life. She passed on the responsibility of my sister over to me and my dad she wanted to go and work and start her life again. And I couldn't. I carried a lot of guilt all the time that I couldn't fix it and I had a deep sense of unworthiness. It's easier for me to deflect and just look after everybody else. Even though now I know it's not my responsibility as a child but when I was a child I thought that was my job."
