Somris: glenwyle has been pretty critical of the whole effective altruist, rationalist cluster. I guess that the cluelessness objection has more force if you were never that thusiastic about trying to help the world in the first place. But if you really do want to help the world, then you know, it can still be pretty clearly worth it, even though the long term effects are uncertain. Somris: There's a lot of ways in which it overshoots the mark, and even pretty much immediately, like one example of this, right?
