How to Treat Calcaneal Fractures

Complications after calcaneal fractures can occur and they're often associated with the fracture itself. Up to 20% of patients especially those with open fractures may experience one complications and infections including necrotizing facitis. Tender injuries can occur when fibers become entrapped between fractured fragments which can be identified on CT. Early detection of skin and soft tissue compromise is important to prevent complications such as one infection.
