The Ugliness of Moral Certitude

Rationalists have a sense of certainty, moral certainty that I just find really difficult to identify with. And this is something that has bothered me about rationalists where it's like you just don't understand where I'm coming from yet and eventually you will. This sort of idea of certainty is actually why the at least Abrahamic faiths frown upon suicide as a religious ideal. It assumes that the human person knows more than God who presumably created you and gave you life or put you here for some reason.
