There wasn't really a lot to do to be honest. It was like discovering how to do it properly and at the right place in the code. The separation between the the parsing and the definition and the actual instances were from an architecture standpoint, were clearly separated already. So people like you have configuration classes, component scanning XML, please don't use XML. We have functional config, all these things put in, they are there ways to describe objects, then they get turned into bean definitions. And then normalized.
