The Importance of Unity in American Christianity
The second great awakening, which happened in the mid 19th century kind of pre civil war, it's really interesting how the effects of that awakening were manifested differently in the south versus in the north. A transformation church, we say upward, inward, outward, upward love God completely. Inward love ourselves correctly because of our union life in Christ. Love our neighbors compassionately, it makes of cross. It keeps us holistic and not simply vertical and individualistic.
