The Importance of Information Theory in Science
If you just take the simple-minded point of view that every theory is either true or false, then Newtonian physics is really just as bad as a theory that Earth is flat. I think actually information theory is another alternative way to give you an alternative way to define what you mean by science. Very loosely speaking, I would say if theory is something is good science, if you get more out of it than what you put into it.
