Cognitive bias is the tendency to search for and use information that is basically pre-existing in your mind on a topic. And so when we look at data, it is really easy for us as marketers to look for data that proves what we think to be true. It's one of those things that we just have to be aware of and overcome as best we can when we're doing it.
