The book alternates between the perspectives of indi and siya, two people roughly the same age who are existing contemporaneously in the same world. India's track is that she has to leave alcanza to save her cause there's this whole thing with aucan where they could threaten his power. And then there's also this lost dreamer character. You get the sense that saia, the person who doesn't really know a lot about her past, doesn't know her father, has a bad relationship with her mother.
