No Pain Is What Pushes Spiritual Development
CS Lewis wrote about the wake up call being pain and not pleasant by a lens. Anthony de Melo, who I is the Jesuit priest that I like so much said the same thing. He says if you haven't gotten to the point where you have let go of things that just simply don't matter, it's because you haven't suffered enough. But CS Lewis says no pain is what pushes spiritual development. When the suffering comes, you will be able to let go of the things that you don't need. You'll know what's important and what's not there.
