The Importance of Essence in Being
Subzavari defends the core Sadrīan teaching of modulation or analogy in being. He gives a number of arguments against those who, like Sadra's teacher, Myra Damad, instead hold that essences are real and that existence is all in the mind. "God does not receive existence at all, for he is a necessary being and has no cause," says Subzavari.
