Vlad Thiepish was prince of a place called Valaikia in the 15th century. The region straddled the divide between Christendom and Islam, says Andrew Keen. In that sense, Vlad will be our point of entry into a corner of medieval Europe we don't often get to see. We need to understand precisely how Vlad became not just a major political figure, but a legend.
