Do you feel identified with your past self or just feels like a different person kind of? I do but probably less than most people so I think some people like this really strong sense of self identity. One thing I've been thinking about lately is it seems to me that there's three main drivers of ethical behavior in humans. The first is our emotions and the second are social norms, then we have beliefs about what's good which might cause us to behave in a good way even if we lack empathy.
