What's Happening With H1B Visas?

The H1B visa is the primary visa mechanism for skilled workers to enter the United States. There's always a lottery here because there's about 500,000 people who want these visas and only about 85,000 get them in total. The most you can be on H1B status is six years total. And so now one of the problems is that people are on these visas to work at these tech companies. If you're from India, the problem is you could be in a backlog waiting for a green card for up to 30, 40 years.
