The Energy Intensity of Wind and Solar Panels
Sally Kohn: I suspect that solar and wind are much more carbon intensive than we're being told. She says the energy intensity of wind and solar is not all that impressive because they don't operate all the time. Contrast that with nuclear plant, you turn it on and it runs for a couple of years at a time; refuelings are very predictable. Kohn: Nuclear power can fill your life entirely with electricity from its own fuel process but there's also cost involved in building it.
