In April, a plus size influencer named Jalen Cheney started a petition demanding the FAA mandate that all airlines have a customer of size policy. The controversial aspect of her petition is that she wants these accommodations to be free of charge up to and including extra seats. Activists say we wouldn't ask a blind traveler to pay extra for extra assistance, so larger passengers shouldn't be charged a double for their accommodation.
