This story starts to get, for me, very, very intense because we're going to see the flip. Brigham Young is going to be sort of like what David Miskovich did with Scientology. He first excommunicated Sidney Rigdon after Rigdon named Joseph Smith a fallen prophet. Then Joseph's brother William was excommunicated for taking part in unsanctioned plural marriages. The last contender to the crown was James Strang, who claimed he was in possession of the letter from Joseph Smith that named Strang as his successor.
