I think we should probably not ascribe too much brilliance and you know specialness to ourselves. We could be people who are unusually disagreeable unusually prone to reflexively saying possibly because it irritates other people so I mean there's not much in human history that makes me think that like wars or pogroms come out of this braver and better people they come out traumatized is what they come out. You'd like to hope that the experience of being canceled on one thing would maybe make you more charitable and others but then also, "it feels like you're going to die" That's what happens through nearly all of human prehistory and history so why did we not?
