Devers and the Red Sox - What's the Difference?

The Red Sox always saw Devers as being the guy who they were, they'd like to retain for a decade. And Bogart's as being theguy who they'd want to retain for another six years. The first offer they made during the off season, I think was probably about $100 million less than where they ended up reaching an agreement. So obviously there was more ongoing engagement with Devers given that there wasn't a sudden and dramatic terminus in San Diego.
