Retrieving Versus Re-Studying Reduces the Transience of Memory
There are a number of reasons why memories fade over time. One is that we simply don't rehearse the memory. The testing effect has been observed only in the last 20 years. Testing versus re studying reduces the transience of memory, which i think is a very interesting finding.
