Genome of the tarin basin mummies was analysed by evolutionary geneticist Chongan Trongwun. He found no evidence of vanicevo gens, which is thought to have been part of a nomadic population once widespread across northern europe and asia. The lack of a panicevo gene suggests that the tarin mummies remain genetically isolated from their neighbors. But there's lots of archaeological evidence to suggest that they were culturally very similar to vanasevo and other peoples around them.
