On better days, what i do as i go. I not consciously, but i think consciously, just got tired of failing in those particular ways and took different approaches. Make sure that you have a plot that is really interesting. And understand that every scene should be instigating or escalading action,. Like all these things that i could see. My previous novels didn't do places where they just got marooned. That's what i mean about sort of standing on a mountain of failure... at this times it's just much to much to overcome.
