Cover Crops and Drought

In 20, 17r i was talking about having my hay operation, that i'd sell hay. And when you broad cast fertilizer and you have a drought, that stuff doesn't just go right back up into the air. After that year, i said, i'm just not going to use fertilizer because, you know, wha, if it's not going to work, what's the point of making the gamble? So i think part of the the struggles i've had with cover crops is that i'm going into with no inputs a and there's not a lot in the soil. But man, onhon dry ers, the stuff doesn't grow very well.
