In Australia, the standard form of petrol in Britain and across the Western world was leaded petrol. The average American child is now three to five IQ points higher than they would have been if it were not for exposure to lead. And we could deal with this collectively, just like we took on the lead industry. I went to interview someone called Aza Raskin who invented a key part of how the internet works. He said there's an equivalent to the lead in the lead paint, right? And that we could we can take on and ban. It turns out these apps don't have to work this way. So at the moment, all social media is designed around a business model
