The Clinical Pros and Cons of Triple P Dermatosis
The first case of Triple P was recorded in 1966 and again thankfully it's very rare. Between Europe and the US data since 2000, only about 350 cases have been recorded. These eruptions usually occur during the third trimester. Most cases however, thankfully do resolve postpartum. Corticosteroids are regarded as the goal standard in the treatment of Triple P. Prednisone is used most typically at a dose of 15 to 30 milligrams per day with refractory cases requiring an increase of up to 80 milligram per day.
