There are situations where sometimes you have to let the overall health of someone dictate how you program. So if I'm going to have someone push, it might not be with a heavy squat or heavy deadlift. It might be with some type of conditioning element or maybe it's with a single leg pattern. Just remember that context is king. And then number, our last point here is that if you are using a specific method like way of loading or cluster sets or dynamic effort or submaximal effort, then you could certainly progress that simple example.
