Niccias and Chleon
Niccias and Chleon emerged as leaders of rival factions in 428 BC. They were polar opposites in personality, character, and temperament. Neither favored peace negotiations with Sparta; both wished to implement an offensive strategy. Euripides dramatized the Trojan War at Dionysia many years after the event.
